Stony Brook, N.Y. - After averaging 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game last week, junior Kirsten Jeter (Elmont, N.Y.) was named the America East Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Jeter recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds against Boston University and then scored 18 in a victory over Maine. This is the first time since December of 2007 that a Seawolf has earned this award.
Jeter's 16 rebounds were a career high and the most by any Seawolf since 2007 when Dana Ferraro '08 pulled down 16 against Iona. The 5-10 power forward dished out four assists against Maine and made the go-ahead layup with 1:38 remaining to help the Seawolves complete their comeback victory.
