Cambridge, Mass. - After leading the Stony Brook volleyball team to a 3-0 record last week, junior Ashley Headen (Alexandria, Va.) was named the America East Player of the Week, according to a release from the conference office on Monday. The middle blocker improved upon her conference-leading attack percentage by hitting at a .411 clip while averaging 3.85 kills per set in wins over Manhattan, Brown and Holy Cross.
Headen had a career-day in the win over Holy Cross, recording 21 kills on a .441 attack percentage. She was in double-digits against Brown and Holy Cross as well, posting 19 and ten kills respectively. She also chipped in with five blocks and seven digs. Headen is the second Seawolf to receive the honor this season.
