Tom Koehler Selected By Florida Marlins In 2008 MLB Draft

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University senior right-hander Tom Koehler (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was selected by the Florida Marlins with the sixth pick of the 18th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Friday afternoon.
"We're extremely excited for Tom and his family," Stony Brook head coach Matt Senk said. "He has worked very hard for this and we wish him nothing but the best of luck in the future."
A two-time All-America East second team selection, Koehler went 6-5 with a 4.15 ERA in 14 starts for the Seawolves this season. He also led the America East in innings pitched (93.1) and strike outs (111) and ranked 19th in the nation with 10.71 strike outs per nine innings.
The Seawolves recently won their second America East title in five years on their way to 34 victories which is the programs most wins since 2001.
