Maysonet named to Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Team

Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Miguel Maysonet (Riverhead, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook football team has been named to the Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Team, the website announced on Monday. Maysonet, a running back, is a third-team selection.Maysonet's 2011 season was one for the ages as he rushed for 1,633 yards, the most in Stony Brook and Big South history, and 15 touchdowns, earning Big South Offensive Player of the Year honors. He had two games with four touchdowns, a conference record, and totaled more than 100 rushing yards in eight games.
Entering 2012, Maysonet is tops among all active players in yards per game (115.0) and second in yards per carry (6.45).
He is 847 yards shy of breaking Conte Cuttino's school record of 3,607 rushing yards. Maysonet already owns the Stony Brook record with 27 rushing touchdowns.
