Kavitsky, Struzenberg Named to America East All-Conference First Team

Both were first team selections last year as well

Cambridge, Mass. - Seniors Vicki Kavitsky (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) were named to the America East All-Conference first team, announced the league today. This is the fourth time Kavitsky has been named to an all-conference team and the second-straight season she has received first team honors. Struzenberg makes the first team for the third-straight season, having also earned the conference's Pitcher of the Year award in 2008.
Kavitsky leads the Seawolves' offense in almost every category this season. Hitting .340 this year, she recorded her 200th career hit earlier this season, becoming only the fifth player in school history to reach that milestone. She is the school's all-time leader in steals and runs scored.
Struzenberg is 20-9 on the season, reaching the 20-win mark for the third-straight season. She is the school's all-time leader in wins, shutouts and strikeouts. She has posted a career-low 1.85 ERA this season and is one shutout shy of tying her season-best of nine.
Kavitsky and Struzenberg will lead the Seawolves into action on Thursday in the first round of the America East Championship. SBU will face Maine at 3:30 p.m.
