CONTE CUTTINO NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA LIST

Senior Holds Stony Brook Career Rushing Record

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior running back Conte Cuttino (Uniondale, N.Y.) had his name placed among the first to receive preseason honors when Consensus Draft Services released its 2009 NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision preseason All-America list. He was one of three players from the Big South Conference selected for the honor.
An honorable mention selection, Cuttino started all 11 games at running back as a junior for the Seawolves in 2008, breaking the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career with 1,195 yards. He was second on the team in rushing and broke the school career rushing mark in the final game of the season. A second team All-Big South pick, Cuttino was fourth in the Big South in rushing, going over 100 yards a career-high six times, including the last five outings of the season. He finished 21st in the nation with his average of 108.6 yards on the ground and was fourth in all-purpose yards and ninth in total offense in the Big South.
Stony Brook, which just completed its spring practice season, will open the 2009 campaign at Hofstra on September 5.
