STONY BROOK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED


Stony Brook begins the 2008-09 season at home vs. Quinnipiac on November 14

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The America East portion of the Stony Brook women's basketball team's schedule has been released, head coach Michele Cherry announced on Wednesday.
For the fifth straight season, the Seawolves will be at home to start the conference schedule, facing Boston University on January 7. After road games at Vermont on January 14 and Binghamton on January 18, the team hosts New Hampshire on January 21. Stony Brook beat New Hampshire 77-37 at home last season, marking the biggest margin of victory against a Division I opponent.
The Seawolves take to the road for two contests starting with America East defending champion Hartford on January 24 followed by Albany on January 27. They return home for a doubleheader with the men's team against UMBC on January 31 and a game vs. Maine on February 4.
A mid-week game at Boston University on February 11 is one of the seven games the Seawolves play in the month. Home games against Binghamton on February 14 and Vermont on February 17 begin the stretch run. Three of the next five games are on the road starting with UMBC on February 21 and New Hampshire on February 25 sandwiched in with home games against Hartford on February 28 and March 4. Stony Brook concludes the regular season at Maine on March 7 and travels to Hartford for the America East Tournament on March 13-16.
