Chad Marshall Named Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American

Second baseman hit .285 with 27 RBI in 54 starts this season.

Tucson, Ariz. - Freshman second baseman Chad Marshall (Paris, Ontario) was named a 2008 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American on Wednesday, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced. Marshall is the second Stony Brook University baseball player to be named a Freshmen All-American by Collegiate Baseball after sophomore Mike Stephan (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named to the squad last season.
Marshall made 54 starts at second base for the Seawolves last season, hitting .285 with 27 RBI while ranking third on the team with 57 hits. A second team All-America East selection, he finished the year as the 19th toughest batter in the nation to strike out.
The Seawolves recently won their second America East title in five years on their way to 34 victories which is the programs most wins since 2001.
